It all started back in 1974 in the town of Darcy, Saskatchewan. Back then, Victor Wade and his family bought and owned a mixed farming operation with crops and livestock.

In the mid and late 70's the business expanded into a manufacturer and retail supplier of steel products to the rural communities in Saskatchewan and in 1981 Magnate Steel was born.

In 1989, Victor and his family moved form Saskatchewan to Calgary and in 1994 Magnate Steel was incorporated as an Alberta company specializing in Industrial Aluminum Recycling and oil Field maintenance clean up.

In addition to the recycling and oil filed clean up services, Magnate began producing steel livestock corral panels and this division of the business continued right up until 2011.

In 2001, after many successful years in the steel industry, the company saw a need in the marketplace and seized the opportunity to expand into the steel container marketplace concentrating on sales and rentals.
